Herr Anstoetz, die JAB ANSTOETZ Group wird in diesem Jahr 80 Jahre alt. Das Motto zum Jubiläum lautet „80 Colourful Years“. Was verbirgt sich dahinter? Was genau ist damit gemeint? Mr Anstoetz, the JAB ANSTOETZ Group is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. The anniversary is themed ‘80 Colourful Years’. What is the idea behind this? There is an exceptionally close link between colour and the ambiance of a room. Diversity of colours has been characteristic of our collections throughout our 80-year history. We place great importance not only on offering a broad selection of colours, but also on providing finely nuanced colour palettes – for every single product. This is how JAB ANSTOETZ has made a name for itself in the design community. How extensive can a colour palette be? If we’re talking about successful plain fabrics, it can be extremely extensive. For instance, our Tizian velvet is available in 199 colours, while the Hot Madison upholstery fabric from the Chivasso brand comes in as many as 243 colours. It seems that when the look and properties of a fabric are convincing, there is a growing desire for more colourways. We therefore aim to pick up on trends, which is why our designers not only extend existing colour palettes but also regularly update them. A good example from our new collection is the taffeta Larice. When you lay out the 31 shades of Larice, it’s hard to believe that this fabric has been an integral part of our range for around 30 years. When do rooms become a real home? When the inhabitants feel at home and secure. For me, this is precisely the role of design: to create collections that resonate emotionally and are functionally effective. Textiles play a central role in this, as they create atmosphere and improve acoustics, while providing tangible comfort. We take a holistic approach to living – from fabrics to upholstered furniture through to carpets. Your company is known as ‘The Design Company’. What exactly does that mean? Design emerges from the interplay of many disciplines, perspectives and creative styles. We collaborate with numerous in-house and external designers, who constantly reinvent our collections, ideally crossing the boundaries between product groups. One example of this is the designer Lucy Koldova. She has created innovative products for us in the areas of upholstered furniture and carpets. Fabrics will follow shortly. This allows for an extraordinary variety of shapes, patterns and stylistic worlds, without losing sight of the common vision. I consider this to be our strength: combining internationality with creative openness. Ultimately, every collection should inspire and provide direction.
